Pull up on your driveway outside No. 126 School Lane. With an open green space behind you to ‘the yellow brick road’ and the allotments just to your left you wouldn’t think you were only a short stroll into Kenilworth Old Town or the main Town centre...
Under the cover of the pretty external porch find your keys and step inside to a square living room with feature fireplace and bespoke storage in the alcove. There is a window to the front and wall lights to set the atmosphere. The spacious kitchen has recently undergone a make over by a local carpenter - the cupboards have been hand painted and the work tops given a new lease of life! There is plenty of space for cooking, eating and chatting about your day… There is open space for appliances or storage under the stairs and further storage by the back door too. There is a ground floor bathroom that has been replaced and the back door leads out to a South East facing garden that has been landscaped. There is a patio, lawn area and well stocked borders. There is a shared pathway at the back of the garden to gain access, not through the house.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, one with bespoke fitted wardrobes and the other with access to an en-suite shower room. The whole house has a Scandinavian cottage vibe and is in lovely condition to move in and simply start living in this beautiful locality within Kenilworth.
We will be hosting viewings on the 7th March - get in touch now to book your slot!
Kenilworth is a lovely market town just 15 minutes from the centre of Coventry (c. 5 miles) via the A46 and a similar journey time to the historic county town of Warwick (c. 6 miles). The area is perfect for commuters and day-trippers, with excellent road links to Birmingham, Leamington Spa, and Stratford-upon-Avon.
Regular bus and rail services connect to Coventry and Leamington Spa stations, where trains run to London Euston in 60 minutes and 80–90 minutes, respectively. The latter will also deliver you to London Marylebone in around 80 mins.
The town benefits from various independent shops and boutiques, including budget and high-end supermarkets, filling stations, and essential amenities. Make sure you try out The Cross pub, which received a Michelin star for its creative cuisine.
Many of our local sellers have recommended eating, drinking and shopping at Waitrose, The Old Bakery, and Virgins & Castle. Harringtons on the Hill and Morning Sunshine Coffee on Castle Hill are also worth a visit.
The current owners enjoy walking along the ‘yellow brick road’ leading from Abbey Fields to School Lane for a peaceful brook-side stroll. They also recommend visiting
Pomeroys Bistro & Bar, Raku57 for Japanese cuisine, and The Almanack gastropub, exploring the old town, relaxing with yoga at Castle Farm, and participating in the numerous clubs and groups the area has to offer.
A local market pops up every Thursday, providing another pleasant excuse for a stroll into town. Once a year, the residents come together for the near century-old Kenilworth carnival – don’t forget to head over to the castle for fireworks and Christmas carols. Castle Hill Fest, stuffed with market stalls and live music, also takes place every quarter.
The property couldn’t be better placed for schools either, with the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Clinton Primary School and The new Kenilworth Secondary only a few-minutes’ drive away.
St Nicholas CofE Primary School and The Spring Playground Pre-School (both rated ‘Good’) are also around the corner. In addition, Warwick University is just down the road, and another school, due to open in September 2024, is currently under construction.
Younger family members will also enjoy roaming around Kenilworth Common and Knowle Hill Nature Reserve or exploring the castle (free for locals). A new sports centre is due to open at Castle Farm – great for adults and children alike.
Besides this, Abbey Fields – just down the road – offers beautiful, ever-changing seasonal walks and is undergoing a vast renovation, including a new swimming pool. Other local walks include Parliament Piece Nature Reserve, the 6-mile Kenilworth Castle Circular Walk, and strolling across the fields to Warwick University and the Tipperary Inn for authentic Italian food.
